🔗 COACH ME IF YOU CAN N°4 - Marie-Rose Tripault
Let’s meet Marie-Rose and understand how she landed a job at triPica thanks to The Allyance!
Who are you? Tell us everything!
My name is Marie-Rose Tripault, I am 39 years old and I am Head of Product at triPica, a rather technical company offering a CRM product. Born in France from Egyptian parents, I grew up in Paris’ suburbs.
As for my background, I studied in one of the first e-business education programs in France, at ISC Paris business school. At the time, the Internet was only at its premises so it was not so common to study UX, SEO, PHP, web, etc.
I have 16 years of experience in the web ecosystem including 10 years of experience in product management. I’ve worked in tech companies, pure players, start-ups with about 50 employees as well as a freelance in web product, conversion and UX for 3 years.
🎲 Last but not least, I love playing board games!
How did you hear about The Allyance?
👄 Word of mouth! A friend of mine, Marion Kamoike-Bouguet, recommended Caroline to me. She and friends of hers had been coached by Caroline and were all very satisfied!
What was your goal when you reached out to The Allyance?
😀 Originally, I wanted to do a skills assessment, but Caroline quickly told me that it is not how she works. So we just tackled every aspect of my job search in a really pragmatic way, although my long-term choices were a bit unclear at the beginning. When contacting Caroline, I had two objectives.
1️⃣ First, I wanted to identify more clearly the specialization I had to choose: either Product Management or digital marketing. Though I was very curious about digital marketing, I found out that the most logical decision was to stay in Product Management.
2️⃣ My other goal was to stop being a freelancer. Indeed, I found it too operational and missed working within a team. I was truly interested in the strategic aspect of the job, which one can only find when working within a company. In order to feel like I am moving forward, I have to talk with other people and be able to share ideas and confront views. For all of that to happen, I had to find a new job!
As I was a freelancer for a long time, I was not used to job interviews anymore and recruitment processes in general. The fact that I was looking for a management position added a pinch of difficulty to all of that, so I had to learn again.
How did Caroline help you find your current job?
🎯 In total, I did 6 sessions with Caroline. When the coaching started, we had sessions every week with homework to do, and then a bit less often because she saw that things were going smoothly.
At first, we followed the roadmap she sent me for the more “conventional” sessions: defining my career plan and preparation for job interviews. Then, we had more spontaneous meetings. In between, we kept talking on Signal 📲 and on the phone to share news about my recruitment processes and plan meetings depending on my needs.
Caroline truly prepared me for job interviews, which was my main concern. She taught me how to introduce myself better, by avoiding certain words and phrases and favoring others.
💙 What helped me the most is Caroline’s positive outlook on my job search. I felt motivated and supported. Indeed, it is easy to feel alone or depressed when looking for a position. With her, I was happily moving forward!
When we found triPica’s offer on Welcome to the Jungle, we knew it was part of the ones I had to apply to. During the recruitment process, Caroline helped me see things I did not detect, notably in triPica’s responses.
👉 Today, I am really happy with my position. It checks all the boxes: a very, very challenging job in a medium-sized company with a caring and human environment, where I can bring my vision of Product Management.
What made the coaching sessions with Caroline Chavier unique according to you?
✅ She tailored the sessions to my personality, my profile and needs: her feedback was always on point. She truly took in consideration who I am and strongly supported me with her positive attitude. It made the process quite rewarding for me.
Why do you like being Head of Product ?
My job is to do everything in my power to make triPica’s product the best ever and satisfy customers. I have to make sure that we’re innovating, that the product adds value for the customers, that we communicate the right way and that we’re measuring things right… These are things I love working on.
📌 What’s particularly interesting at triPica is that we’re a B2B but also a B2B2C company. A lot of our customers want to differentiate from their competitors, which implies that triPica must be a global product with specificities for each customer. That gives my job a quite challenging aspect!
What I love about being Head of Product is that in a tech company, Product is the very heart of everything. When working in Product, you’re in contact with everyone, whatever their department is. Also, working in Product is quite strategic and all about analytics: I always say that we cannot improve what we have not measured…! 📊
How do you keep yourself up to date with Product topics and methodologies?
📔 I am mostly watching YouTube videos, listening to podcasts and reading articles. I really like to listen to and watch La Product Conf, Product School and Mind the Product. I also find precious insights on blogs such as Marty Cagan’s and Melissa Perri’s. Medium is also a good place to find news about Product management.
🎙 For general topics, I like the podcast Growthmakers and Startupfood/Koudetat’s videos and podcasts.
When you are not working, what do you do?
I used to teach but I am not willing to continue. Indeed, I prefer one-to-one coaching sessions like I do with some startups. I also used to write articles about Product but I decided to put that activity on stand-by for now. They are still available on my blog!
Recently, I was contacted by Moovelab, a start-up incubator, to do some UX and Product consulting for them. As I wanted to quit freelancing, I was hesitant at first. But in the end, we agreed on occasional consulting sessions (around 1 every 3 months), invoiced by triPica. I am quite happy with that decision: without taking too much of my time, I know it’s going to be interesting, challenging and make me feel useful.
Other than that, I have two kids, which is already an occupation itself! 😆
Name a well-known person you admire. Tell us why you admire that person!
While I don't admire the man himself, I have to say I find Elon Musk's entrepreneur's mentality inspiring. He is not afraid to go along with his bold, innovative, out-of the box ideas. He announces revolutionary projects and then almost instantly goes with them. Maybe because he has enough money to do so…
💚 So I’d better talk about someone unknown to most people but kind of a famous person to me: my husband! I truly admire what he managed to do in 2 years since he created his online event company. He’s always moving forward, jumping from one opportunity to another, without thinking too much, and it’s working extremely well!

✒️ Léa C, The Allyance Contributor: “I joined The Allyance after Caroline and I met at a ionnalee’s concert! I am a freelance translator and content writer (French, English, Spanish and German). I also work as an administrative employee in the health and data science sector. So, I am not far from Caroline’s core topic! I am very active as a volunteer in social and environmental NGOs, where I always try to put intersectionality at the center of actions because I am convinced that every cause is linked to one another. It is readily apparent that Caroline and I share a lot of common interests, which is why we as friends decided to work together!”
